Depeche Mode In Paris [30 Jun 2009|03:12pm]

editor_m
'Tour of the Universe' by groundbreaking electro legends Depeche Mode has started! The trek is in support of the group's 12th studio album, 'Sounds of the Universe', which was released in April.

The first leg of the trek was marred when lead singer Dave Gahan was struck by a severe bout of gastroenteritis, which occurred before the band were to take to the stage in Athens. Sixteen dates were subsequently cancelled or postponed. Nonetheless on June, 27th the band played their show in Paris, France. It was fantastic!

Metropolitan Opera Celebrates 125th Birthday [19 Mar 2009|01:58pm]

editor_m
In New York, the Metropolitan Opera celebrated its 125th birthday with a celebrity-studded gala event. Much of the evening's charm was due to the loving recreation of old sets and costumes from productions of the past, some of it through the magic of video projection. There were many standout performances - excerpts from 23 different operas, ranging from brief arias to extended scenes.

Indonesia's Java Jazz Festival [10 Mar 2009|05:53pm]

editor_m
Indonesia's capital has held one of the world's biggest jazz festivals, with up to 80,000 visitors cheering 220 local and international acts. Any concerns over the impact of the global financial crisis on the 5th annual Java Jazz festival appear to have been misplaced, with some visitors complaining about the crowds at Friday's festival launch. This year's line up included international acts like Jason Mraz, Laura Fygi, Dianne Reeves, Swing Out Sister and Brian McKnight.

Introduction [12 Feb 2009|12:08pm]

anxious_hearts
I just joined the other day and just started posting without a word of anything about me. I just read the userinfo, so I thought I should do that now. It's not much to ask for such a community. =)

My name's Brian and I'm 24. I was born and raised in New Orleans, La but I live in Dallas, Tx these days. I've been all over with the exception of the west. I'll get to that soon enough, I hope!

As for my favorites, I'll have to divide this up into genre. I love so much music, I can't pick just five.

Metal/Alternative: Dream Theater, KoRn, Deftones, Slipknot, Metallica
Rap: Jay-Z, Nas, Talib Kweli, Ludacris, Ice Cube
Pop/R&B: Sade, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson

Be expecting a lot of concert bootlegs and rarities from me. That's all I'm here for. =)

[Edit] I also have my own community called audio_fetish , where a lot of stuff will be cross-posted from. Of course, it'll have it's exclusives. Have a look see!

British artists such as Coldplay and Robert Plant dominated the 51st Grammy awards in Los Angeles, triumphing in many of the major categories. Veteran singer Plant had the biggest haul of the evening with five awards, with Coldplay anointed in three categories. Adele, Duffy, Radiohead and Estelle picked up another six awards between them.

Coldplay - who received seven Grammy nominations - won Best Pop Performance by a Duo Or Group and the coveted Song Of The Year for their best-selling track Viva La Vida. Newcomer Adele said she felt like crying after winning the Best New Artist.
